I got asked to write the "About Us" page, and truthfully, I don't even know who reads these things, so I wasn't sure what to put. I've never clicked on an About Us page in my life. But if you're here, thanks for taking a few minutes.

Wasting your time with marketing fluff about being an "industry leader" or "customer-focused" wasn't interesting to me whatsoever. I'd rather just tell you the story. So here we go.

The Beginning

Back in 2014, I came out of a bad business deal. I wasn't trying to build an empire. I wasn't chasing millions of dollars. I wasn't sitting around dreaming about opening multiple locations or shipping products across Canada and the USA.

I just wanted to build a life I enjoyed waking up to. If I could pay my bills, make sure my kids had what they needed, and build something I was proud of, I figured I'd already won.

Funny enough, that mindset ended up building what is Banditos.

Somewhere along the way I learned something pretty simple: answer the phone, tell people the truth, work your ass off, and actually care whether your customers succeed. Do that consistently enough, and people come back.

Then something happened that I never expected. The best manufacturers in the industry started finding us. Not because we were big — we weren't. They wanted to work with people who were genuinely excited about their products. I love learning. I love finding better tools, better machines, and better ways to help our customers. If there's a better product out there, I want to know about it.

Then the right staff started finding us too. People who cared. People who worked hard. People who took pride in helping others. Somehow this little business I never intended to grow became a family.

Around here, we work hard, laugh a lot, bust each other's chops, and genuinely care about each other. Our customers become friends. Our vendors become part of the team. Our staff wear Banditos gear with pride, and so do thousands of our customers. That still blows my mind.

Where the Name Came From

People ask where the name Banditos came from all the time. I've heard everything: "Are you guys a taco joint?" "Is this some biker thing?" "Is your family from Mexico?"

Nope. Banditos was named after our family dog at the time, Bandit. He was just a really good boy. Happy all the time. Loyal as they come. Loved everybody. The kind of dog that made every day a little better just by being around.

Looking back, that's probably exactly what I was trying to build without even realizing it. A place people enjoyed coming to. A place where people looked after each other. A place where customers weren't just another account number. A place with a lot of laughs, a lot of loyalty, and a whole lot of blue-collar badasses.

Turns out Bandit left us more than a name. His kind little soul became the blueprint for our DNA at Banditos.

The Service You Deserve

That isn't a slogan. It's a promise. Whether you're a one-person shop trying to make payroll or a company with 500 employees, you deserve to be treated like you're our biggest customer.

If You Know, You Know

Another saying you'll hear around here is: If You Know, You Know.

People ask us all the time if we're a clothing company because they see our hats and hoodies everywhere. That always makes me laugh. The truth is, if you know Banditos, you know it isn't about the hats. It's about the culture that "The B" represents.

The World Wide Web already has enough websites run by people who know absolutely nothing about what they're selling. We're not those guys.

We don't just list products. We learn them. We test them. We ask questions. We challenge manufacturers. We bring in products because we believe in them, not because they pay us the biggest margin. If we wouldn't recommend it to our friends, our family, or use it ourselves, it doesn't deserve a spot on our shelves.

This website wasn't built because we wanted to become another online retailer. We built it because our customers deserved better. We wanted the people who already trusted us to have access to their account, invoices, pricing, technical information, and the biggest industrial catalogue we could build — 24 hours a day.

And when someone on the other side of Canada finds us because of that, we say: welcome to the fam.

But understand something. This website isn't the business. The people behind it are.

Where We're Headed

But the goal has never changed: build a business people enjoy doing business with.

None of this happens without an incredible team, amazing customers, supportive vendors, and a wife who's been willing to bet on some pretty crazy ideas over the years. We're grateful for every one of you.
